Touched 50K. Is it time for some repairs.??
Hi All,
I just touch 50K mile on my 350z 2004. I hav't done much work on the car but it runs good. I just do regular oil change.
I am not sure but I have heard that 50K is kind of first mile stone and you need to take your car for a full servicing.
I don't really know what the word FULL service really means.
Is there a specific thing i need to get change, replace or repair in my car. Or just and oil change should be good.
Should I take it to the dealer for a check up.?
Any kind of information would be really appreciated.
Thank you,
Ruban.

Repairs are for things that are broken.
Maintenance keeps things from breaking and keeps your car running.
That being said, 50K is way past the point of "first" maintenance, that should have started back at 25K or so.
Your Z came with a Maintenance manual that lists the schedule of when things should be done and what things needs to be done.
If you don't have one, you can find an electronic copy here ... http://www.courtesyparts.com/pdf/2006_Nissan_SMG.pdf
You can also log onto the Nissan website under Owners and it has link to online maintenance schedules.
By now, you should have replaced the air filter, wiper blades, flushed the engine coolant, replaced drive belts, flushed brake fluid... and there's probably a few others I'm not remembering.

Just to add to my previous message.
Yes it had gone through all the initial Maintenance which you said, should have been done around 25K.
My dad use to drive this car and he said that he had been through Nissan with all those initial schedule maintenance.
So I am good with that. I was just worried if I am missing out on something. The car runs good but prevention is better than cure, So thought of asking guys like you who know more. Rather than getting ripped off from some dealer.
I will check out the manual. And yes, if there is anything you can share then do write back.
Thank you guys.
Ruban.
