Wtf is goin on
Is it just me or is my car playing tricks on me?!
I've been posting saying that my car had trouble starting. It starts occasionally.
https://my350z.com/forum/maintenance...t-start-_.html
Well for a while now it has been starting with just one try. But i stalled once trying to park, and for some reason it failed to start. Then later on it decided to start perfectly normal again.
While trying to figure out what's wrong with my car I accidently touched the negative terminal of the battery with my wrench while removing a screw on the positive terminal, therefore creating a short circuit with sparks flying! It didn't last too long though, maybe a second or two... but it was enough to cause my driver's window and HID's fail on me. Careless mistake
I checked the fuses on the relay for the HID's. they seem fine... but my HID's still would not work. Could it be my bulbs that are fried?
My driver's window failed while I was in the down position. I left it in the garage to avoid the coming rain. I checked all the fuse boxes and even the window motor which seemed fine.
Then a few days later.. I was checking all 3 fuse boxes again, all fuses seem normal. When I decided to sit in my car before leaving, all of the sudden my drivers window started working and I got it in the up position. Then shortly after it stopped working, AGAIN
Car won't crank(sometimes), Driver's window malfunctioning(sometimes), HID's not working?
But all fuses seem good, battery is healthy, and everything else electrical seems to be working perfectly.
I'm going to try to directly connect the HID's without the relay and see if it works.
Does anyone have any idea on what's happening here?

Rather than guessing at the problem, why not take it to a dealer with a CONSULT system to get it diagnosed? You obviously have a serious electrical problem and asking for advice on an internet board isn't going to help.
Just asking if anyone has any idea on what's going on and not a recommendation to see the dealer. And isn't the main purpose of a forum like this is to find information from others who can relate or have knowledge of issues with our cars?
I had the problem of my engine not starting a few times a year ago. It wasn't even trying to turn over, and my battery was fine. Turns out the resistor in my key was going bad and it was the anti theft device not allowing me to start the car. I had to get a new key and get it programmed

No harm at all in asking other 350z owners for help, thats how I found out how to fix that damn "clicking noise" in the rear.
I'd rather try and fix the problem myself first before I let people that don't give a crap about my car over charge me to fix.
to take a shot in the dark i would say bcm issue....possibly cracked curcuit board that randomly makes a connection allowing these items to work then not work...idk though just a guess....maybe this happened when you shorted the battery out but i definitely agree with the other guys...get it looked at
the power window motors, both driver and passenger, are prone to carbon build up between the armature of the motor and the magnets. One it builds up to a sufficient level, they won't work anymore. Sometimes the act of opening/closing the door allows just enough of the carbon to fall off and the motor may work briefly again.
Solution? Remove the motors and clean them thoroughly, as well as polish the armature, or replace the window motors.
As for your car not starting, it can be any number of things - poor ground, starter going bad, safety release switch for the clutch pedal not working properly.
People are suggesting bringing the car in, because it sounds like you have a multitude of problems that may or may not be related. You can also get yourself a factory service manual and start going through the troubleshooting steps for each of these issues 1 by 1, or for a couple hundred bucks, let Nissan, or an experienced tech you trust, go through the diagnostics with the Consult II Scanner, and hopefully give you at least some direction

Ya, I actually got stuck a few times after going out. Took it in and dealer said everything was fine, and that is was probably my key. So i got a new key and got it programmed and i've never had any problems since
chestur..... there has been plenty of posts on the intermittent starting problem... I wrote up an entire thread on it... use the search... plenty of people have had this problem... reprogram your keys and the problem will be solved.. I had I bought my car brand new and after I installed a new audio system and head unit I began having this problem (between 20,000 and 70,000 miles) I am the original owner of my car bought i brand new in 2004. I searched forever and saw that someone had the same problem. Reprogramming the keys fixed everything. I am at 102,000 now and my car starts up perfect everytime. As for your window, plenty of people on this site have had the window motor problem. Option 1: get a window motor online for $130 and install it yourself ( takes about an hour) I did it myself and window works perfect without a problem. Option 2: Stealership. Good Luck, and please learn the search tool at the top ( type in intermittent starting , you will find plenty of threads)
