Did you get the code read?

When you unplugged the MAF, was the battery still connected? If so, you need to disconnect the battery, press the brake pedal then reconnect it to reset the ECU and clear the CEL.

With all my respect to your experience, But unplugging the MAF while the battery is connected will not trigger a CEL .

You are correct - I was thinking of the throttle body. If you turn the ignition on with the MAF unplugged it will throw a CEL.

Yes, unplugging the battery makes the CEL go off.. but your car still threw the code for a reason so you shouldn't simply ignore it.

In this case he just modified his air intake so im sure the car threw the code because of that change. My car threw a code when I put my intake on, I reset the ECU and the light has never come back on.

+1, if the key is on and you unplug a lot of things under the hood the CEL will come on, but then become a stored code once you plug the connector back in.
