Sudden power loss issue
So i was driving down the freeway the other day, with no issues. I've had no issues since my vortech was tuned about 2 months ago
I gave the car gas in 1st to about 4K rpm, and shifted to 2nd... Decided to speed up with a little more power, pushing the gas pedal to about 70 percent, car started to go, then it completely cut out, almost like the traction control licked in.
I thought that was weird, but didnt think anything of it as it was wet out, and maybe that was really what happened, although i never saw the vtc light.
Then again that night, i got on the freeway, and it did the same thing.
i tried it again with the VTC turned off, and it did it again.
i can drive easy and have no issues, but if i accellerate hard, it cuts out, complete power loss.
It can pretty much re-create the issue on demand. My wideband was at 11.9 when it happened.
2005 VQ35DE
Vortech w 3.12 pulley
Osiris tuned
600 CC DW injectors
Invidia Gemini Exhaust
Test Pipes
Plenum Spacer
Greddy L9 cold plugs
Always run the same gas

So we pulled the codes...
Can i get some thoughts?
Codes -
0507 - Hi Idle - I had the tuner up this
0113 - Hi Air Temp - Expected, it's got a supercharger.
0223 - TP Sensor
0123 - TP Sensor 2
0300 - Random Misfire
1122 -
P0113 -
DTC P0112, P0113 IAT SENSOR PFP:22630
Component Description ABS009CU
The intake air temperature sensor is built-into mass air flow sensor.
The sensor detects intake air temperature and transmits a signal to
the ECM.
The temperature sensing unit uses a thermistor which is sensitive to
the change in temperature. Electrical resistance of the thermistor
decreases in response to the temperature rise.
P0223 -
DTC P0222, P0223 TP SENSOR PFP:16119
Component Description ABS009FQ
Electric throttle control actuator consists of throttle control motor,
throttle position sensor, etc. The throttle position sensor responds to
the throttle valve movement.
The throttle position sensor has the two sensors. These sensors are
a kind of potentiometers which transform the throttle valve position
into output voltage, and emit the voltage signal to the ECM. In addition,
these sensors detect the opening and closing speed of the
throttle valve and feed the voltage signals to the ECM. The ECM
judges the current opening angle of the throttle valve from these signals
and the ECM controls the throttle control motor to make the
throttle valve opening angle properly in response to driving condition.
P0123 -
DTC P0122, P0123 TP SENSOR PFP:16119
Component Description ABS009D8
Electric throttle control actuator consists of throttle control motor,
throttle position sensor, etc. The throttle position sensor responds to
the throttle valve movement.

P0300 -
DTC P0300 - P0306 MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRE, NO. 1 - 6 CYLINDER MISFIRE
P1122 -
DTC P1122 ELECTRIC THROTTLE CONTROL FUNCTION PFP:16119
Description ABS009JQ
NOTE:
If DTC P1122 is displayed with DTC P1121 or 1126, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC P1121 or
P1126. Refer to EC-461, "DTC P1121 ELECTRIC THROTTLE CONTROL ACTUATOR" or EC-470, "DTC
P1124, P1126 THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR RELAY" .
Electric throttle control actuator consists of throttle control motor, throttle position sensor, etc.
The throttle control motor is operated by the ECM and it opens and closes the throttle valve.
The current opening angle of the throttle valve is detected by the throttle position sensor and it provides feedback
to the ECM to control the throttle control motor to make the throttle valve opening angle properly in
response to driving condition.

yep.
dont call me a pro at all, but im not even FI, but when my car was even bone stock, had similar problem, but then a CEL that stayed.. and they replaced the throttle body as the casuee under warranty ( sniff, oh how i miss the warranty).. and it happened twice. 2005 DE .
Known issue id assume.
Search that , see if common things pop up id say.

Sir, your honesty is a white shining light of truth.
haha. But honestly, whens the last post you saw that had THAT much background work done?
I cant even get people to search here, let alone give codes and also the juice behind each code.. DAMN GINA! hope you get a solid answer from soneone soon.. i know ours have been .. um..NOT.
haha.

Its more then likely the Throttle body assy. We replace them quite often especially on boosted cars. We actually recommend them on cars over 80k all the time, whether they have issues or not. When we replace them, customers always come back commenting on how much crisper and more responsive the throttle is.
At the end of the day its just a motor and brushes wear and contacts get dirty. here is a link to the part we sell if you end up confirming its the throttle body.

I was searching and found your post and book marked it...
Problem being I just got back from a three day drunked bender in vegas.. so till payday... I may have to limp the car...
Replacing it is my second option... After i check to make sure nothing is loose.

I hate to bring back an old thread but i'm having similar issues. My 03 track has a great power band up to 3800 rpm's then it just suddenly cuts off. The rpm's don't want to climb.... This is not intermit. I can go through the power band very clean sometimes, sometimes i can feel the power "hopping" through 4K to 5K.... and sometimes it just stops at 4K. Did the throttle body fix your issue?
