Default turn signal noise

has anyone had a problem where the turn signal/hazards don't make their clicking noise? I can see they are flashing, but no noise.

I've found the signal noise tends to be very soft, almost inaudible under normal driving conditions, i.e. road tire noise, reasonable stereo levels, other vehicles... there will be times when the signal will be on far after I've made my turn, very soft sound nonetheless. I wonder if that is what is happening here, or did you turn off your stereo and such in order to determine the lack of any noise.

I've heard that Nissan has been known to have weak wiring in many of their vehicles (this tidbit courtesy of the boards). My speedometer has blinked four times so far (that I've noticed)... that is, I'll be driving a constant 60 mph on the highway only to see the speedo dip to 40 and quickly raise back to 60 all within the span of less than two seconds. Wiring or something similar seems to be culprit.

I'm not about to have the Nissan grunts tear up my dash in order to "attempt" to fix this minor problem... only when the problem becomes major will I have to contemplate bringing it in under warranty. As far as your inaudible turn signal, I really wouldn't worry about it. Now if the external lights are not operating in tandem with the lack of sound, you my friend, may have big problems if you don't have it immediately remedied....

Yep, had it happen for a few days. Then got out of the car with the lights on and it made that "dying wildabeast" noise it does. I turned off the lights and the noise changed, but wouldn't go off. turned the car back on, lights on and off, noise went off and turn signal noise came back. Never happened since then.

Happened to me just a few days ago. Turned the car off and a stange buzzing started from the dash area. Turned car on and off a couple of times..same noise. Tried one more time and the noise went off. During my drive home I noticed that the turn signal was not making any noise. Yesterday the turn signals began making their typical sound but the noise from the dash happened again when I turned the engine off. Got it to off off by starting and turning off the engine a few times. Looks like I'm not alone.

same thing has happened to me twice and then goes away for no apparent reason. when it happens, if you open the door while the turn signal is on and key in the ignition, the car makes a crazy buzzing noise.

well will you look at that...i'm at 13,000 miles in about 7 mos. My turnsignal ticking sound became mute for the first 5 hours. Then it came back?...stange. and I noticed a slight "clunk" noise when i reverse and brake to a halt.

There's a TSB out for that clunk (NTB03-088a). The dealership needs to tighten the front upper link bolts.
