Default Please Reassure me.. 350z Oil

I have just read the big problem the 350z has with engine oil consumption. I just bought a 2006 350z touring with 40k miles. It's an automatic transmission (I know lol)

The threads I been reading have been complaining about the 6 speed manual. Does this mean I should not have the engine oil problem, because I have an auto tran? Thanks you.

Regardless of it is only with the manuals vs autos it doesn't really matter.
Yes, it seems common that the 06's and 05 anniv editions do have oil consumption issues but not everyones 06 leaks oil.
I know kids who do have consumption issues and others that have never had a problem. Just keep your eye on it for a while to see if you are leaking oil....you will know.....

You most likely don't have a common defect that found on manual 05/06 high-rev DE (yours is a regular DE), still keep an eye on the oil level once in a while because you don't know how hard the previous owner(s) drove the car.

Change oil, properly fill, then check your oil every 1k miles.

It only effected the 05-06 manual rev-up engines. Sometimes our cars like to burn oil anyways, just be on the safe side you should check your pressure and dipstick between changes.

Welcome. All 2006 350Zs have the same motor.

I don't believe that is correct. The automatics have the 287 horsepower motor and the manuals have the 300 horsepower motor.

I've got an 06 rev-up 6MT. Bought it with 22K miles and I'm up over 51K now with 0 oil issues. I change my oil regularly (every 3-4K full synthetic). It doesn't hurt to check your levels every 1-1.5K. Not like it takes long.

Have had a few customers run into this issue. With Nissan Powertrain warranty they have all gotten replacements! However it is recommended dontinue with oil changes and maintenance for preventative measures!

rev-up is manual motor only... rev-up and DE are the same block and heads... maybe that is what he means???
