Default Car won't start... help with diagnosis?

I know you prob heard this a million times before.. but here it goes..

07 Base 350z - manual.

So for the last couple days I noticed my car was cranking a bit slower then usual but it always started. I been trying to figure out why..but today it died.

Tried to start it up this morning and it cranked a couple times and then nothing. Now it won't even turn over and just makes a clicking sound. (push starting is awesome btw). Tried to jump start with some cables but no luck.

Battery is at 12volts when keys turned to on (cars off). When it was on I think it was around 14volts. I figure it's not the battery.

Does this sound like a starter issue? I remember I had the almost exact issue with my maxima a while back.

Anyone know a good shop around LA or OC? S. cali.

Actually .. is this pretty easy to install on the z? I rather do it myself if it's not too complicated...

Check your battery ground. Negative to chassis. Also check for good connections at battery posts.

When you push start it ,do your headlights go bright and dim with rpm=alternator, I would replace battery if thats not
the case.

Make sure that ground is good also.

Sounds like the battery, 4+ years... it's about that time!

If you jump it, it'll most likely start right up.

Check voltage at the starter. If you have voltage on both sides of the solenoid but it doesn't start, it's bad.

it could be the starter or the solenoid or just a bad connection between the battery and the starter or solenoid. Your best bet in that situation would be to have a local mom-and-pop mechanic with a good reputation take a look at it. They usually give free estimates. Avoid the dealership unless the car is under warranty -- dealerships charge top-dollar and do crappy work.

If you can push start it it could still be the starter/solenoid as mentioned as you're manually turning the engine over. If it RUNS after push start it's starter/solenoid based on your diagnosis.
