The diff bushings are cake. Subframe SUCKS the 1st time you do it. Getting the subframe out is easy, but getting the old bushings out can be a PITA. The 1st time I did it, by the time I got to the last bushing it was a walk in the park. I learned little tricks on each of the previous ones. Getting it back in is easy just make sure everything is completely lined up. If it goes in crooked, you can end up wedging it in there. Ask me how I know : /

Two words for the 6MT guys -- bias ply's. All the upgrades in the world won't keep **** from breaking that one time the track prep is a$$ and your radials start hopping or not enough pre-load on your launch.

I haven't had a single instance of wheel hop or dead hook since switching to bias ply's (it was terrible on radials)... drivetrain is 100% stock to the bushings. Dozens of passes including a handful of 1.6-1.7 60ft's and my diff bushing isn't bleeding yet .

the universal joint does not come apart. it is all one unit. the new drive shaft should have a universal joint attached to it. super easy to install and remove.

Probably had something impact the DS during normal driving and weakend the structure. The FSM highlights the fact it shouldn't be dropped. Just unlucky..

i was there when it happened. he had a lil water on the tires from the burnout pit and when he took off it spun real bad and then caught about 6 foot out and broke. i guess maybe something could have hit it before and weakened it and the shock broke it.
