Default Heard a noise that concerns me

So I was leaving a bowling alley tonight and I burned out a little bit pulling out of the parking lot, when all of a sudden I heard a loud sudden BANG come from what I believe was the passenger rear tire area. I got out to see if I had hit the curb or if there was anything in the road but there wasn't and I hadn't hit anything. I don't have much experience with car problems but I have read about axles breaking when spinning your tires, from "wheel hop" or what not. Nothing changed driving wise, didn't make any other noises after that; it drove fine.

Just wondering if anyone has some advice. Perhaps I should take it in to get it looked at?

If you had wheel hop as you said, check under your car specifically under the diff. You possibly could've broke the casing. Good luck.

Not a race car. Not too hard to spin your summer tires when it's under 30 degrees outside. "burned out" was the wrong wording.

Thanks Kcee, I will get it checked out.

No problem bro! My local shop here has a G that was dynoed at 900hp and when they did it the only thing that broke was the diff casing. So really the only thing you have to buy is a new diff case.

Would that cause my car to drive differently? Nothing has changed with the handling or driving of my car. And also is the diff casing something that would be covered under warranty? Thanks again for the help
