Default Weak Parking Brake?

Hi all, I just purchased my Z about a month ago and have driven 5k miles in it. Not that that matters, because ever since the first day of owning it, I've had to set the parking break REALLY hard (as in getting a workout from it) or it would slowly roll back. None of my other cars do this, and no, I didn't drive it with the parking brake on. Perhaps the dealership did, but its doubtful because we bought our Z with 7 miles on it.

Any suggestions?

I have the same situation in my Z. I've had mine for over 6 months and have driven her for about 7,700 miles. MAybe its just me getting used to it, but with time I noticed I don't have to pull it up as much... come to think of it it is most likely just me used to the feel of it. In conclusion though, don't worry, I'm pretty sure its normal.

BTW, how did you manage to rake up 5,000 miles in one month? Don't tell me you were trying to transport goods cross country in order to make a profit or something If so, those other 14 wheels really get the job done.

I would mention this at the 7.5k service, dealer should be able to adjust. Adjust requires removing tire!

We had the same problem. The dealer's service department fixed it during the last service.

I had an Endless 6 piston caliper installed as a replacement for my stock parking brake. As an added bonus, I'm now able to extend my braking to the 4th marker cone at Lime Rock.

I have this same issue with this weak parking brake. I had it "adjusted" twice already and it fixed the problem for a short while... it is now back.

I had the same problem and was told that the settings were according to spec. On level ground, it's fine but in my driveway it is not; therefore, I leave it in gear as per the owner's manual.

I also notice this. I am affraid to park it on a hill because it rolls back, even with the parking brake up, i have to really push it up all the way, then its a b*tch to get back down.
