I just bought a 2003 350 z. the dealer replaced the passenger seat because it was ripped. He bought a used seat and installed it. after that the air bag light blinks, did they put a seat in that does not have an air bag or sensor? How do i tell, or did he not disconnect the battery and just a reset is in order. any info would help.They where not very helpful and i agreed to just take the car the way it was at that point.

 

You should've had them pull up the codes using their Nissan Consult. A diagnostic from a dealer costs roughly $89 and normal shops (Autozone, Pepboys, etc.) don't have that tool. But, take a look here:

Perform the steps, diagnose the cause and you'll find what's wrong. It could simply be a reset that's needed, or something more.

Here is a seat with a side air bag:

 

ok the dummies installed a seat without a air bag.What do i do now? How much is a black leather used seat with the air bag in it. if i use the resistor trick will the rest of the air bags in the car work? What color is the plug that goes to the air bag?

 

first, go back to the dealer and see if they'll replace it the right way

 

I bought it at a used car lot, and bought it as is. they are not to swift anyway and i bought the car knowing i would have to deal with this.I wanted the car and excepted the responsibility.

 

Make sure the other seat in the car has an airbag. Not all Z's came with those airbags.

 

yes the other seat does have an air bag. what color is the molex plug for the air bag under the seat?
