Default What oil is best to run?

I have been putting in Mobil 1 synthetic 5w-30 since I bought it on tuesday. 2003 enthusiast. 85k miles. its been burning it quickly (been obviously driving fast a lot this last weekend). Just wondering if that's normal? Probably went through about a quart over 500 miles and lots of goin fast in a straight line.

What oil should I be running with this car? no mods other than intake.

First of all,you may have a prob (oil use)with you car that changing oil types is not gonna fix.I take it that you had no info on what kind of oil was used previously
in the car?Sometimes you can find a old oil change decal etc.By comparison,I've
got a 03 Touring,89k on the clock. It uses NO oil between 6k oil changes.I've always
5-30 semi-synthetic.I bought the car new.10 yrs old.
Its not unusual for a new owner of a used car to put in a full synthetic oil and have
oil use problems due to seals etc.If it were me,I'd dump the Mobil 1 and try some
good grade 5-30 conventional oil.I use Valvolene. They make a high milage oil that is
excellent.See what happens.

i have used nothing but Mobil 5w-30 in my 03 touring. never had a problem with burning oil. i think you have a problem with the engine not your oil.
