Default Sometimes, car doesn't start up. Can anyone help brainstorm possiblities?

Sometimes my car won't start up on the first or 2nd try. Usually after driving it already, using my stereo and subs a little loud. The car will turn over and click a bunch of times but not quite fire all the way up it seems.
I'm thinking it's something electrical but I'm not quite sure what. I'm not too familiar. My buddy said maybe probably getting power to fuel pump or could be the coil pack.
I originally thought maybe spark plugs or starter but he says wouldn't be that. What do you guys think?

If you just hear clicking and the starter isn't engaging, you need a new battery. --Spike
