I have an 03 an I'm pretty sure the tranny is on it's way out so after reading a few threads I've seen people say to put a cd009 in. Since I'm not very familiar with trannies my questions are what else will I need besides the cd009 for the swap? What can I expect to pay for labor if I buy the tranny clutch and flywheel before? And what should I pay for that tranny? Thanks guys I'm pretty new when it comes to trannies so please don't flame me lol
The 2003 was notorious for transmission problems. Some owners had the transmission replaced under the manufacturer’s warranty (Nissan replaced mine).
You don’t have to replace the clutch assembly if the components are in good shape. I replaced my transmission at around 36,000 miles and did not replace any of the clutch components. I’m at 88K miles now and the clutch is still fine.
A used transmission will cost anywhere from $1,000-$2000. You definitely want the updated transmission since it shifts more smoothly. Your labor costs to install a transmission can vary significantly depending upon who does the job. The dealership will be the most expensive, but you get a warranty.
Question: Why do you believe that your car’s transmission needs to be replaced?

I'm getting the famous vibration on deceleration. It's becoming more and more frequent and I was reading up on here and someone took theirs into the shop and they said it was the tranny. I still have a decent amount of time before my tranny is toast but I figure I mines well start assembling the new parts so when it does go out I have it all

There were problems with the synchromesh in the 2004 transmissions. Nissan also replaced some of the 2004 transmissions.
The main symptom is grinding when downshifting (usually 6th to 5th). The pre-cd009 transmission also felt “notchy” (meaning it did not shift smoothly).

Even if it's the clutch that's a big expense!
But don't go to the dealer lol. They wanted to charge me $1,500 to do the clutch because mine "catches too high". It doesnt slip or make noise they said it needs to be replaced. Liars.
