Default Noise on my engine at 3 RPM

Hi I have a 350z 03 with 103,000 miles.
When I started the car I hear a noise like a ticking but only for 1 or 2 seconds then the car sounds normal; when I rev the car to 3000 RPM( when the car is in neutral, not driving) I hear a sound like a ticking again but it goes away in lowest RPMs (it’s exactly at 3000 RPM). I think it can be the timing chain but I’m not sure.
Does anyone know about this?

Well I think there can always be some sort of noise with an engine.

How loud is the ticking? Also what side of the engine, can you get a video?

Here’s a video that I recorded days ago, is not really clear but with headphones you can hear what I’m talking about. I will post another video with better audio in these days so you can have a better idea of that sound!
The video is in my FB page let me know if you are able to see it!!

I was able to see the video, hard to hear. Maybe try to get one like with the hood open and you recording the engine.

You can see if there are any codes pending by hooking up to a scanner. Also is that your service engine soon light or tpms? From the video it doesn't sound too loud.

Your oil level is low.

You may not see an oil warning light on the dash and the dipstick may show a level above minimum, but I'm betting you need to add some oil to eliminate the ticking noise

My oil level is fine I just change the oil a week ago, I went to a mechanic and he thinks it can be something related with the timing chain or the crankshaft bearings :S

Hmmm well it could be. Normally they last three life of the car but are not bulletproof.. I know they are costly to even touch let alone replace

Keep us updated! Good luck. I hate car repairs lol

How long have you owned the z?
