Default [need help] Engine dying when driving

Hello everybody,

Asking for some help here..

The problem I ran into recently and still can't figure out the solution: engine dying sometimes when I push gas pedal really fast and hard and won't start again until it cools down.

It already happened at least 5 times, when I need to pass somebody really fast I push clutch, downshift, release clutch and push the gas really fast, engine just shutting down with ignition and all the cluster lights on, so I'm pulling over and trying to start the car, starter works fine and fuel pump makes it regular working noise but car won't start. Then I'm leaving it for few hours, coming back and it starts from the first try immediately, every time the same.

Few times I was just stuck in traffic or waiting and engine died just on idle but started up really fast with first or second try.

So was thinking about fuel pump and replaced it for walbro (following this manual http://blog.cj-motorsports.com/2011/...tallation.aspx) last weekend, it seems alright, I tried to reproduce the problem few times driving around my neighborhood but all seems fine.

Today I was going to work and it happened again, I was trying to start it up for almost one and half hour giving an engine breaks for 10-15-20 minutes with no luck, then called the tow truck and it took us like 40 minutes to tow it, after we dropped it to my driveway I tried it out and engine starts right away.

specs - 03 manual 350z, stillen supercharger on top with intercooler and stillen intake, plugs replaced few months ago, two spark coils replaced recently due to misfires

Did anybody have similar issues?

Yep,with a 03,its very common that the cam sensors(prolly one)is going.
No CEL until they are gone. The dash will light up.
Many owners replace both even if one is bad.If its the cam sensors,
strongly suggest using a Nissan part not a aftermarket.

Yes most definitely a sensor, sounds like some sensor is failing on you. Should check fuel injectors too and check if the throttle body is okay.

Did you do a proper ecu reset? Hall effect (cam) sensors typically either work or they don't work.
Do you have any codes?
If there are no codes you need to start simple, like cleaning the maf and throttle body, look for obvious vacuum leaks etc.

This reminds me of a car my friend had. He drove a few miles, then the crud in the tank began to starve his fuel pump until the car died. Then after a few minutes the car fired back up again.
