Default buzzing noise when in 2nd over 4k

Car just started this this morning.at first it was a constand whirring buzzing noise eminating from front of car past dash. Sort of an electrical hum. Turned off stereo and it was still there. Went away after a short drive. Now however, it persists in any gear over 4k, but is particularly noticeable in 2nd. Take offs from first are now also making more noise, and vibrating more.

Afterthought: it was about 16 degrees, today. Maybe cold has an effect?

I guess that's one issue I don't need to worry about...for several reasons.

Is your car a 2003 with the original transmission?

Mine makes a slight buzzing noise when I have my rear defroster on. Considering the temp, was your's on?

Default Noise issue

Sounds like one of your idler pulleys or tensioner pulleys have bad bearings . Remove your belts and turn and check for play or looseness .
If your belts are old (more than 3 years old) or with more than 25K miles on them , replace them . Check your other accessories they might be ready to crap out .

Good Luck

Mine has alternator noise, the more load, the more noise. It's done it since I bought the car 4.5 years ago and hasn't gotten any worse.....Not that it's even close to being bad in the first place.
