Default Engine Getting Hot When In Traffic

I have a 2003 350z, 6 Speed Manual.

About a year ago I was driving on the interstate and got stuck in traffic, when I detoured and started driving away I noticed my temperature was through the roof. I immediately pulled over and could tell my radiator had cracked. I left it over night in a parking lot and put a new one in the next morning.

All has been good since then, it has not ran hot one time.

This morning on my way to the office I was stuck in traffic for about 2 hours on the interstate because of an accident (moved about 2 miles in that time). I was relatively idle and not moving much as you can tell. I looked down at my instrument cluster and noticed that my temperature gauge was again through the roof. I quickly pulled to the side and took the mailman's lane up to the next exit.

As soon as I started moving, it cooled off and didn't get hot again even at red lights and in the 5 minutes I let her run when I got back to my house.

Is this a common issue with 350s?Any insight will help.

Thanks,

Sean

Not common on 350Z specifically.

Air in system? Bad thermostat? Low coolant? Fluke/1-Off?

either air in system or fan quit....fan motors are known issues.

get car warm and turn on A/C....both fans SHOULD be running.....flashlight helps to confirm.

Check the electrical plug(s) for the cooling fans.

OP...you ever figure it out?

I had mine spike just this weekend......I have bled that damn car a freaking million times and driven almost 300 miles.

I did install a fan off amazon and wondering if it is either quitting intermittently or just not pushing enough air.

Upgrade time.

did your shop get them installed?

I have one spal 14" but prob going with a 12" then I got to figure out the wiring.

like we discussed I was hoping on using temp activated variable speed controllers but that is beyond my skill level (not to mention my budget)

Thanks tho
