Default window randomly stopped

hey guys I went to put my window up and right before it hit the top it just stopped. the weird part is the window feels very loose and I can manage to pull it up the extra 1/4 inch. the window switches make noise when pressed but the window wont move. prior to this the window was secure and the only problem was the motor went down a bit when the window auto up was pressed. Im not sure if its the motor because the window is very loose like I said but I don't know any help?

Just read this- my guess is the window regulator has gone out and needs replacing. The question is, do you replace the window motor just to be sure?

Your window motor is shot. I had to replace mine after this happened.

Always buy oem and they revised the part so it's less prone to break now.

Option 2: Replace motor brushes instead of the entire motor.

update: finally got around to it and the motor wouldnt spin when i pressed the switch but did when i spun by hand. im not sure exactly which part went because i checked everywhere for "gunk" and i found it was fairly clean where it needs to be. long story short i replaced it but it still does the down an inch everytime i use auto up. so i just need to fix that and get rid of all the duct tape residue

You didn't HAVE to use duct tape, there are other types of tape out there. lol

You might also need to reset the window motor.

JUST did it, tried the up and down for 10 seconds but that didnt work so i followed the tsb to hold the button, did the trick perfectly!
