Yes I have this rattle also and it drives me nuts. It kind of sounds like it is coming from behind my empty nav unit somewhere. It is at its worst at around 35-50 MPH when on semi-rough road (which are most roads in California). If anyone has an idea as to how to identify/fix this I would be thrilled.

Have the same problem - same location. Took it in to the dealer and they couldn't replicate / locate. It's still there. sounds like a marble rattling in the passenger side airbag housing.

Yeah, I had the dealer look for the rattle also and they said they couldn't reproce it. I don't think the really try. How long are rattles covered by the warranty?

i have a rattle, not near the passenger side but i havent bothered taking it in because i know they will just say they weren't able to reproduce it. my current fix for my problem is black felt pieces stuffed in the front area near windshield. itll do for now i suppose

Default Had the rattle fixed

I had the same problem with a rattle noise on the passengers side of the dash. it woulf happen when it was cold outside and when I was on pretty rough roads. Took it to the dealer three times and each time they said they could not find it or make it rattle to get an idea.

The last time I took it in I figured out that the service manager was marking it down as a rattle by the glove box (he was thinking the passeners side) well the service guys were looking behind the passengers seat where the real glove box is.

Long story short the found that the rattle was caused by the metal airbag frame hiting against the air vents in the dash so have your dealiers look into that.

The best way for them to find it is to leave it over night and have them test drive the car first thing in the morning when the car is cold.

good luck.

Mine isnt a cracking noise, but i weird vibrating noise. And its weird because it only happens at 45-50mph and smooth rodes will do it mostly.

I will have to ask the dealer about metal airbag frame thing.

The little round temp sensor near the glass on the passenger side rattles on mine. It seems to only do it in the cold and on certain roads. I know it it this because I have had several people push on it when it happens. I will fix it someday when I think about it.

Yes, I have this rattle as well but I don't think I thought it was up over my gauges somewhere...not sure. Havn't bothered to ask the dealer I try my best to avoid dealing with them, never anything but aggrivation.

I will have to have my gf push on a few areas on the passanger side to see exactly where its coming from. Its like a "wide" vibrating noise that comes in for a few seconds and then goes away for a few seconds. Its really strange, cuz it doesnt sound like any of the other sounds from this car :-/

I am almost certain it's because it's winter right now. I/we never noticed this noise during the summer time because the ambient temperature was much higher, allowing the plastic to expand ever so slightly to fit together better. In the winter, of course, it's colder, causing the plastic to not expand to fill in any tiny gaps between panels. I'll wait till it gets warmer to see if the noise goes away before I let my dealer's mechanics tear my dash apart!

I have this problem too. Crawled around under the dash yesterday but it was too cold to be out there too long.

IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS!

It sounds like its just behind / under the dash on the passenger side. I also think it's somewhere up high in the dash...basically impossible to get to without dismantling a portion of it.

I'm going to order the service manual to see if it has any good diagrams of the dash internals.

CAN ANYONE HELP US?! PLEEEEEASE!

...goin' nuts.

I think my rattle is originating from the temp sensor. I have tried to press down on it while driving and it appears to make the rattle go away. It seems to only rattle when the car is cold.

I have a rattle along the front of the entire dash, near the window. When I put my finger between the dash and window, it stops. I'm gonna go to Home Depot this weekend and get some small rubber or foam inserts to put there. Hopefully, that will do the trick.
