Rattling Noise When Accelerating
I have a 2003 350z with 100,XXX miles on it. Lately I have been hearing a rattling noise when accelerating. It mostly happens around 2,000 and 3,000 rpm. In the freeways it goes away. When the car is idle in park it does not make the noise, but when I rev the rattling comes back. This is driving me crazy, does anybody know what the problem might be?

with the car being 12 years old, it is very possible that they honeycomb could be breaking apart and some of it fell into the y pipe which would cause the rattling.... but at the same time it could be just rattling in the cat itself. rattles are the worst to try to find honestly

Yeah I figured, I know as a fact its not the engine or transmission. I believe It has to have a connection with my exhaust pipes or something down there. My brakes squeak too when I break softly but I don't believe that there is a connection between those two.

There are a ton of rattling threads. I have a rattle that makes noise around 2,800rpm and it seems to better on some days. I have taken measures and inspected a lot of items as prescribed in the threads. The thing that made the most difference was adjusting the trunk latch downwards (or toward the front of the car).
