Default Piston and Rods

So I'm new to the 350z Forums but I need some information on my baby!!!!!! The pistons and rods are 100% great engine never lags or leaks or anything (2004 track 350z) I'm hearing a very light clacking noise when I turn my car off SOMETIMES. Anyone can help me fix this problem or is this even a problem at all??? Thanks!!!

I'm not sure I get it. What makes you think the problem is with the pistons or rods? Maybe some basic info on your car would help: mileage, mods, how long the issue has been going on, etc.

If your car has a 6-speed manual trans, this is sound is most likely coming from the dual mass flywheel. To diagnose this, try switching off the engine (with the trans in neutral) with the clutch engaged and also with the clutch disengaged. Usually turning the engine off with the clutch pedal pushed down will lessen the clattering noise. Most modern cars today use dual mass flywheels and they can all do this. (BMWs are particularly bad) Unless the noise is super loud and occurs on start up as well as shut down it’s normal and won’t cause any problems

Not arguing GTX's answer since it's a good guess on the issue, but OP, have you owned the car since new and know what kind of clutch/flywheel set up you have?

Again, there's a lot of basic info missing in your post.
