Default Camshaft Position Sensor Problem 03 350z

Hey guys, after been having issues with my z I just replaced my camshaft sensor (bank1 ,2,and crank sensor), but im still having issues, my car takes seconds to start and the check engine light, vdc off, slip still appear, so i put the error code reader and i found out that now is the (bank 1), so I'm thinking the passenger (bank1) is defected. I need help to figure this out

What is the code you are getting?

The 350z has both Camshaft and Crankshaft sensors, and both have Bank 1 and Bank 2. If either is failing, you will experience similar symptoms (engine dies and restarting is difficult, lots of warning lights, etc.). They are responsible for different functions, but they do work in conjunction. Many of the owners here have experience problems with these sensors as they go past 80k miles. The best fix seems to be replacing all four, and with OEM sensors.

My 04 Z is at 83k miles. Car wouldn’t crank or start. Just a click. Replaced my fuel pump and crank sensor didnt work. Roll it back and clutch it in reverse and it started and drove it a few block hit a stop light it died try it again doesnt work. Do i need to change the two cam sensor too? And for what I understand theres only 2 cam sensor and one crank sensor. Where is the other? Need help asap my car is parked blocks a few blocks away till i find something.

James, before randomly replacing the sensors you should get a code reader to see what code your car is throwing. I replaced my sensors when I got a code for one of my CAM sensors and just figured I change all three while I was at it.

The two cam sensors are on various youtube videos that you can search for. otherwise I believe there's another thread or two on here that may have some pictures.

also worth noting that your problem may be the o2 sensor(s).

@HOMiEZ
I dont got any codes. Believe me i would of just plugged and initiate. I know where sensors locations are but i was refering to the dude a few comments up say theres 2 crank sensor. Unless i read wrong. Anyways I got the car running home after throwing it in reverse. Making sure i didn’t release the clutch in low rpm; because if i did itll shut off. But when i got it in my driveway the car didnt stall out or died. But when i shut it off it wont crank or start. No sound no click. Only sometime when i try to start it Youll hear a click once in a while. I got under the car and notice my driver side 02 sensor broke off. (When I swapped out the test pipe i had on before with these cats, one of the cats had a broken o2 sensor so i just jb weld it but i guess it only holds for so long.) Lol. I never thought a second of it being my culprit. Good thing you said something about it. But how would it cause my Z to not start.? My last conclusion i came down to were my ignition switch or starter but never thought anything of it being my no crank no start issue besides me needing a new cat.

glad to hear you found the issue.
it makes sense that the o2 sensor is what the computer uses to determine if your cats are still good.

Default Camshaft Bank 2 Help needed!

I recently purchased two new oem camshaft sensors, one angled and one straight for the driver and passenger side, respectively. After replacing the passenger side with a new Straight sensor, I remove the driver side sensor only to be greeted with a straight sensor instead of an angled one. Everyone in the community says it’s supposed to be angled but mine however came out straight. Even more mysterious is that the connector won’t fit into the angled sensor. Can someone help? I own a 06’ rev up. Here are some images of the ones I replaced and the new angled one I’m currently stuck on.

This is the straight angle sensor I pulled out of the driver side(Bank 2)

This is the angled sensor that is supposed to be in Bank 2

rev up engines are different than DE engines.

there are 4 cam sensors on a rev up motor. 1 for each cam.

each side of the engine has 1 cam and 1 crank sensors.
each side of the engine has 1 straight and 1 angled sensor.

everything you are mentioning is normal for a rev up

Default 2003 350z

So my 350z is throwing the codes for random misfire and camshaft position sensor bank 2. At autozone and online videos they are saying there are 4 camshaft postion sensors. But all I can found are 2 camshaft position sensors and 1 crankshaft position sensor. How many are there before I go and buy the wrong thing.
