Default 2003 350z, bogging past half throttle

I'll just get right to it. At low and partial throttle the car seems to run fine. But as soon as i get past half throttle, in any gear, it bogs down. It almost sounds like its backfiring or a cylinder isnt firing.

When i first start the car it doesnt start very smooth and it idles a little bit rough. But while in neutral i can mash the throttle and it revs up fine.

This problem has happened to me once before a few months ago. It seemed to go away after i replaced the spark plugs and coils.

Car is a 2003 with about 100k miles on it. Ive tried new oil, full tank of premium gas, and tired the throttle rest procedure.

Any leads on the actual cause of this would be great. Thanks.

Also the check engine light has come on twice but did not stay on. It came on and then shut off after a few minutes while driving.

My guess is plugs and coil packs...you have done very minimal basic troubleshooting. Go get your hands dirty

That is kind of my guess but it only happend at certain throttle position and my plugs and coils shouldn't go bad after a few months. Not heavy or long drives either.

What brand/model of spark plugs did you install? Have you pulled any codes?

Go to an auto parts store and have the code read for free. It's most likely still in there.

The check engine light stays on more now. But I'm just getting P0000 codes. So no real help there. I think it's probably related to the fact that the car only does it in gear at more than half

Hello, understand it has been a while so will be surprised if I get a reply. I have the exact same problem with my 2005 350z. Did you ever find a solution? Mine has a rough idle but I can't even drive it anywhere as it will just stall
