Default Part Number for OEM Battery

I need a new battery before next winter. My car is cranking slower and slower so I don't want to risk it.

Usually I use replace with OEM batteries. I know some people here go for upgrades but I find the Nissan supplied batteries are the way to go..... somehow they last 10+ years!

Is it correct that the part number is 80D23L for the Panasonic unit? My Nissan dealer hasn't been very helpful and tell me the part number is wrong. They can't supply any Panasonic batteries for my Z.

I know there is a Duracell/Atlas equivalent but don't know if it has the same sort of life.

Any tips are helpful, thanks

I'm using Walmart $94 3-year non-prorated warranty batteries(124R). They are about two years old in 3 of my cars and have been working great. They are probably the wrong size for my cars but $94 for 3 years!

I would look into an odyssey PC925. it will be a bit lighter. and smaller. as an AGM style battery its life expectancy is 10 + years.
apposed to the 3-5 years of a normal wet battery

I've had 3 odyssey drycell batteries. They are garbage and none lasted more than 2 years

Any 35 battery of your choice, the oem Panasonic batteries are not available as far as I know. I would go with Costco, they are bargain prices and have interstate batteries at the one I shop at.

I would suggest taking it to a Nissan dealer and getting the replacement battery.

I have a Nissan battery in my basement that didn't even last a year, I would never suggest a Nissan battery from the dealership. Came in the juke when we got it, first cold day car didn't start.

On the other hand the interstate battery in my 350z sits for weeks and hasn't let me down yet.

80D23L is the generic Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) designation for your battery. 80 = performance rank, D = size (width and height), 23 = length in cm., L = position of + and - terminals.

You probably won't find the exact same battery that originally came in your car. Japanese car companies don't export their batteries. Your Nissan dealer will sell you a North American equivalent.
