Default undershroud removal

Dumb question; new owner, 2008 350Z; trying to remove undershroud to change oil/filter. All the bolts removed; watched lots of youtube and all I saw showed all bolts. Mine has plastic fastener in center of "2nd row" of bolts; lots of years on cars but never have seen this fastener before. The ring around the outside will spin on the plastic "pin". How does that ring come off or does the whole pin just pull out of the front crossmember? Any help appreciated! Enjoying the "new to me" Z. Hate to pry on plastic; I know the end result

Welcome- that plastic pin you are asking about is a blind rivet that can be removed with a flat blade screwdriver. Put the blade under the round center section and pry up gently. The round button is the top of a pin that expands when fully inserted into the fastener. You can pull the fastener out at this point and reuse it later. There are other "blind" fastners like this on the Z, so get used to removing them gently and preserving their function if possible.

Its a standard Nissan body clip, just get a flathead screwdriver or pick underneath the center "head" and pry up and it'll pop out about 1/4 inch and release. You should just be able to remove the panel then. You'll find a bunch of these style clips in the engine bay and fender liners/ undershroud. Good luck with your new project!

Thanks, bar1ow and dkmura. I should have looked for responses before I posted "duh...." but was hoping to post before anyone had to respond. Thanks for quick response. Have learned fair amount already from wandering around forum few other days. Nice to know such a responsive and helpful group!

We're "responsive and helpful" until you start bragging about buying Chinese eBay parts for your car. Don't do that.
