Default Need an Oil Filter recommendation.

All I can find locally anymore is purolater, whcih I don't want to use. Can anyone recommend a decent filter and where to get it on-line? It doesn't have to be K&N or Mobil One, but I'll take any suggestions I can get.

Thanks!

K&N model HP-1006. A little larger than the recommended HP-1008, but with the same pressure specs. I've used them for close to a year now. IMO, the best oil filter out there. Buy from http://www.truckpartseast.com/ @ $8.97 ea. with no shipping.

You can also get the Mobil 1 m1-110 or m1-105 which work well also. Not sure if Autozone is out in New Jersey, since I am such a sheltered fairweather monkey, but you can get them there.

Thanks!

After looking around the web with both of your suggestions, it looks liek the easiest and cheapest solution is to go over to AAP or Autozone and have them get me a couple of the K&N's.

Thanks again.

Good Choice on the K&N. Don't forget make it the HP-1006.

Actually, you should stick with OEM filters. If you buy them in bulk (6 or more) the dealer should discount them for you. I've never used anything but OEM on my cars and as you can see in my sig, the Z31 just keeps on going.

Nope - Go to this thread, scroll down to find out why you should not use the stock filter.

Thanks lowrider! Good to know. I wonder if the OEM's I use on my other Z's will fit. Regardless, If not I think I'll have to go with the Maxima OEM.

Default best oil filter

http://www.wixfilters.com/

buy on line at http://www.citylineauto.com/
cost 5.50 for a Maxima filter
Cost 6.50 for a Z filter

Go figure

I use the one for the matching year Maxima.

Ben using them for over 10 years. None better.
