That myth was busted a long time ago. Sprocket change really messes with the speedos on bikes. When I mounted my tank cam on my top speed run, I was going faster than he was on that vid. I only took it up to 182 mph (indicated). I did this on stock sprockets:

I did 175 on my R1.. that **** was soo fast

 

That looks like KM/H to me not MPH. So more like 150 MPH.
