I will be installing a SF basic bash bar on my Z to replace the stock crash in the coming week, & will also black out the rest of the visible components as suggested

I have always liked the look of the deep bumper cut and the most common occurrence is in pro Time Attack cars to raise the exhaust exit & utilize a large, functional diffuser.

looking forward to see pics once she's back on the "ground"....not sure yet if I like it or not ^_^ . are u planning to install any diffuser? the top secret one from shine would be awesome.

Here it is back on the ground:


No plan for a diffuser, just a rear tube crash bar; I'm on stock aero, a rear diffuser with no complementary aero wouldn't flow at all imho.

Thanks King; & I'll think about a rear diffuser if I ever do any functional aero up front lol

That cut on the rear bumper came out perfect, so clean! How did you manage? Ive seen others, and non have managed to keep the line so clean. Nice job!

I've always had a knack for taping measurements by eye accurately didn't use any measuring tape at all, just 1.5" painter's tape. I used a 1.25" circular saw blade on a Dremel to make the initial cut then took my time with a sanding block to finalize the line. Thanks for the compliment, I've definitely seen other hackjobs that look like they were done with no patience or care.

I daily the Z like this #becauseracecar, I'm sure you'll do much more when you retire yours as one though.

Dang, that is a really clean cut. Cutting mine in a couple of weeks (probably the weekend of PRI). How did you measure it?

So I back tracked a couple of pages to try and find the answer to my question, but I am still unsure so I have to ask. I've been contemplating the removal of the rear wiper on my Z for a long time, but have not been convinced with the plug options available (mainly concerned about water leaks). Anyway, I was looking at some of the photos you've posted Peter, and I can't tell if you used a plug of got the hole filled in. If you don't mind sharing you're methods I'd be interested in knowing. Thanks!

Run to lowes and grab a sink plug. I plugged mine 3 years ago and it's never leaked. Throw a bit of sealant on the underside around the plug just to be safe. Super simple, took 15 minutes tops!

I just used strips of painter's tape on available lines (bottom of the turn signals, bottom of license plate indent, and where the rear bumper mounts to the rear quarter panels) and connected the longer strips from those reference points. I also eyed one long strip down the midline (rear Nissan emblem through the middle of the license plate straight down). Just be sure to give yourself room for error because what finalizes the clean line is always a sanding block and elbow grease

I got my rear wiper delete kit from my friend Mike who is a member on here (graffkid732), I don't think that he has been active much in a while.. His build is insane https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-...50z-build.html

I would definitely do this now.

For the spray nozzle in the actual rear window, I followed this thread: https://my350z.com/forum/body-interi...e-removal.html and actually found a plug that was already black

Wow this is neat! Very clean and aggressive looking, especially seeing it from the rear with your meaty setup in the back.

I definitely agree that a relocation is warranted eventually, but it is definitely very far down on my list of priorities. I actually left a couple bolt holes intact and painted them satin black as potential mounting holes for some sort of shaped sheet metal plate to cover the canister up, but will probably end up moving it to the left and up where the stock muffler heat shield once resided

Unfortunately most of my updates have been maintenance/upkeep or DIY

- Earlier this year my CSC failed after a long drive out to the desert to work a music festival. Ended up buying/installing the Z1 CSC Elimination Kit along with their Street Performance Clutch:



- Then I cut my bumper and replaced my stock crash bar with a SF basic unit (pics in previous posts)

- Replaced radiator/hoses and AC condenser

- Bought/installed a used black Zspeed undershroud from a forum member

- Received/installed some 3mm wheel spacers from my friend Brian and brought my rear effective offset to +12

- One of my front knuckle ball joints was clunking/gone so I replaced both sides and also replaced the two bushings on each front lower control arm with ES poly:



- Both tranny and diff flushes/refills:



- Last but not least, bought/installed an super epic OEM rear trunk emblem:



My Z is still my only car that I enjoy daily driving, here's to 2017

That's definitely been a recommendation; honestly I love the cut with the tube bumper lined up perfectly without a diffuser.. but who knows what will happen down the line
