high oil pressure
I have just done an oil change and when driving around last night I noticed that my oil pressure was at 120 psi, and the engine was only turning at 2300 rpm. This was also after driving around for a while, so clearly the engine and oil were warmed up. When it was started up cold later that night, the p ressure gauge read 130 psi at idle and higher.
Anyone know what the hell would cause this? It worries me.

Not normal at all. Takes about between 5-10 minutes to get the oil warmed and lubricated thoroughly in the engine.
At 70 MPH, you should be at 2500 RPMs with an oil pressure is reading of 60 PSI.

Nah mine runs a bit higher with Mobile 1 also. I think its just the fact its a full synthetic vs a blend you get from the factory. I dont know that it runs 120 or 130 though, but Mobile 1 will have you running higher than stock.

Mobil 1 isnt actually full synthetic though guys, they recently changed the way this is measured. Try that oil filter and let us know. Ive run up to 10W-40 in my car with no ill effects. Good luck.

it's not the oil filter, so it might either be a problem with the sensor or the oil pressure regulator or something. unfortunately I don't know where that is located. The worst case is that I might have to go to the dealer and have it checked out, but since I have stuff done to my car they might not cover it under warranty.
