Well, I've been told by the service manager at my local dealership, that even though I've lost 25% of my oil every 1000 miles, there is no consumption issue with my car. My car passed the oil consumption test, and I have nothing to worry about. WTF? I'm calling consumer affairs.

That sucks man...based on the conversation I had with the service manager and the technician, if my oil is below 6mm after 1k miles, they should replace my engine. We'll see if that happens in actuality without a hassle.

I would advise that you guys contact Nissan North America Consumer Affairs and get open up a case, just make sure you have your vin# when you call. I did and I hound the F outa them. Keep all the paperwork you have so far as far as the dealer is concerned. My situtaion seems to be a bit odd, it only consumed 3mm in the first 1000 miles, but its at least doubled that during this period iam just ending. At least the service manager is on my side thank god and isn't being a Pen!s.

If your car has a manual transmission, then you have a Rev-up.

OH ... thanks for the clarification, when it was referring to rev-up I thought they meant the 300hp rev-up, not manual vs auto, as far as I know not all standard z's come in rev-up models..or am I wrong, that would be news also

I’m looking for an 06 so I just wanted to be clear.

I decided to go ahead and call Nissan North America up before going to the stealership. I filed a complaint, and I gave them the reference number and classification number on the service bulletin letting them know that I am well aware of its existence. The file has been elevated to a regional specialist, and I was told that I am guaranteed a call by tomorrow afternoon. I told them that I refuse to just go to a dealership and try my luck because hundreds of people on our forum have done that without succeeding in acquiring any help that will fix the issue.

Lastly I told them that I either want a new engine that will totally and completely fix any issues that the service bulletin entails, and if a new engine is not provided, that the vehicle falls under lemon law and I demand that nissan take action towards getting me a new car. I'll post the update tomorrow.

By the way, I checked my oil level today before driving for the first time, and after running synthetic oil for 2400 miles, my oil was almost completely drained. Im ******* pissed.

06 Zs in manual have the 300hp Rev-Up engine...unless something is different in Ontario.

If more of u guys call in and complain then theres a better chance of those crooks actually resolving the issue. Take 15 minutes and call.

There are a few...but I wouldnt put any oil in it..My engine blew because NO ONE knew about this back in April.

I would drive it to the dealer....let them document it. Trust me on this...And if its a new car...they willl tow it for free so you dont even half to drive it there! Call them up and say come get your POS.(totally not bashing your ride).

I called them from Richmond....it was a free tow!

My 99 cents man!

Listen to him ^^^^^^ lol

I do believe this should fall under lemon law, but it clearly states that the dealer or seller has 3 valid attempts at repairing the problem :/ ehhhhh it'a a pain in the d!ck. I did the whole " I want Nissan to purchase my car back...." I haven't heard jack Chit back and I called my "regional specialist they just ignore me ...........yay. Let us know how it goes though.

I wonder if Canadian models have this same issue, I'm wondering if Canadian dealerships are aware of this problem and what kind of headackes will i have after importing am 06 from the states.
So far after reading over a few of these problems I havent noticed anyone saying anything about this issue in Canada.
Best thing to do maybe is to visit my local Nissan dealership and have a quick chat with them, I know a few guys in there so it might not be so bad.

i have a question my car is under oil consumption test right now, but as soon as i get the oil changed from the dealer, i went home and next day i decided to check my oil and the oil line was 5 mm above the H line. is it posible that the could add more oil than usually? right now i drove 1300 miles and the oil is a 3 mm below the H line. also what i noticed that my car doesn't consume as much oil as in the summer. Summer time my car used to consume the entire oil in about 1000 miles. Also my exhaust is so fuxxx dark because of the oil.

Dont worry if it's consuming oil it will continue, remember that the viscosity of the oil will only further degredate so keep an eye on it ............. TRUST ME!
