Let's do it!!!
I can take you to a number of pho places in the area, even turn you on to a host of other Vietnamese dishes. I can even make some for you! BUT - It's always easier to sit, buy, eat, and go. Remember to add in iced coffee.
Btw - Everyone should also try good bun bo hue, for lovers of the very spicy [when done right]. The best places are around the Eden Center/7-corners.
www.phofever.com has a nice national directory by state and region.
Frederick
* Viet Aroma - ok cuz local to our [Fred/Mt.A] area
Germantown
* Pho 81 - a favorite of relatives
* Pho Song Long - a favorite of mine
Rockville
* Pho 75 - another favorite but BUSY at peak times; tight parking and seating. They are a chain with a few places in MD/VA.
Columbia
* Pho Dat Thanh - a favorite near my office; amongst co-workers; solid
* An Loi - very good but tight parking and seating; BUSY at peak times
There are hosts of other small pho places in the region. The above are where I and family usually frequent in MD. We often go to NOVA for the specialty stuff that the non-Viet/asian may not like.

I'm so jealous. Pho 75 in Arlington is the best, beware though, the guy that seats you and takes your order rivals the soup **** in his demeanor, although I've never had any problems with him (but that's probably because I'm a girl).... Simply stated, Pho is the sh*t. Enjoy!

This is also a must - ca phe sua da [iced] or ca phe sua nong [hot]. It's all the sugar and caffeine you want in one little drink.

doesn't help that she knows her food like me and expects something better then AVG when eating out.
What I'd do for a good local pho shop, then I wouldn't have to hear her ***** about the crap places MD has. =(
