YA, THE COMPARTMENT BEHIND THE SEAT IS WHERE I PUT MINE. BUT since the xbox is cdrom for the games, i ran a longer IDE cable and mounted my CDRom in the cubby compartment between the drivers and passenger seat.

the fact that the NES is cartriage means you need to access them. I would look into maybe standing it upright behind the passenger seat?
