A little more info. There were two fairly high-intensity porch lights out there, more or less on either side of the car, and they were on all night. The driveway angles on an incline up to the house, so maybe that's why the thieves didn't go for the wheels, since the car would have been unstable on jacks or blocks (plus, the wheels are Axis Hiros, not exactly primo aftermarket wheels, although the Toyos on them are in good shape). The shift **** was actually broken in half; all you can see in the photo is the bottom part of it. The car was facing away from the street, which gave the b!tches more cover, I guess. And yeah, with practice it's easy to get that bumper off quickly, and the headlights too, but still, in the dark, under pressure? These guys truly knew what they were doing, the basterds.
I'm surprised they didn't get your hiro's.
Stuff like this makes me want the DIY security cameras as seen in this video. As a bonus they are 350z drivers :P

and the bumper and headlights you don't need to see anything to take off, it's all by feel on the underside and inside anyway. I could probably do it blindfolded (and with magnetic sockets it's probably even easier.
wow. I def feel for your loss. It's always sad to see people's cars vandalized. I am sure you are even more pissed that it happened in your own driveway. Hope insurance takes care of you. Take it as a chance to upgrade!

I bet they broke your shifter as well then. if you torque off the shift **** without holding the shift arm from twisting, it will break the lower plastic cup that the joint pivots in. make sure you check this when the insurance investigators are going over your car. make sure you point out the cut harness, and check the headlight harness to see if they cut them out as well.
[QUOTE=jetspank;6764924]They even removed my front license plate and set it in the grass next to the car!

OP sorry to hear this happen to you. My house was recently broken into so I know how you feel. Its definitely a growing trend for theft and burglaries now that the economy is in the toilet and its right around the holiday when people are more desperate for money. Definitely document as much as you can for insurance purposes and hope for the best. Many stock parts are more expensive than aftermarket parts so you may be able to benefit from the situation a bit. For future situations I agree with the motion sensitive AK-47 idea
You arent kidding man. Stealing shyt outta someones driveway is nuts. I was even surprised in my case cuz my father is a cop who parks his work car in front of the driveway all the time, has FOP tags on both cars and is always in uniform but they decided to still break in to the house. The crazy thing is they stole a bunch of ammunition and a bullet proof vest but didnt take any of my guns or my father's guns(maybe for fear of being tracked?). They were even smart enough to cut the alarm wire to the phone lines. The bastards are getting smarter too.

The thing that’s getting me now is, I worked really hard for this car. I got it pretty close to the way I wanted it (on my current meager budget). I truly enjoyed driving it, especially in a spirited manner. It has been a sexy beast.
And then today, some soul-less, spineless monkeys come along and just take it from me. Half of it, anyway. I wish they’d stolen the whole thing. D!cks.
I wanted a 350Z from the moment they were introduced, and when I finally managed to get one, it was even better than I thought it would be. Driving it has been an incredible experience, and I hope (I hope!) mine will one day drive as well as it did.
But this car will never be the same, not exactly, no matter how good a job everyone does on it, and that breaks my heart and pisses me off. I've done my part in the world, kept my **** together, mowed my lawn and paid my taxes, and I love this car. So how can some evil *******s parachute in and strip it down and fck it all up IN MY OWN DRIVEWAY?!?!
Not catching them in the act is driving me nuts.
(I think my current stage of grief is: ANGER.)
Anyway, thanks for all the kind words and expressions of condolence and suggestions for retaliation.
I really appreciate it.
