Engine Valvetrain noise
My mostly stock 05 Z has 34.5K miles on it. Oil was changed every 3K miles. I lose about 1/2 qt every 3K miles, I dont think I have oil consumption issues.
It recently started to make a valve train noise, its slight tapping/hissing/grinding noise and you can hear it clearly inside when engine is revving down. Is that a normal noise?
I recently got brake and clutch fluid replaced at Frank's Hills Garage. Awesome guy and did take his time to do things right. His wife was super nice too. It was good to meet Barnabas there when I was getting it done.
Should I take the Z to Frank to check on the engine noise? I will just replace the oil once to see if the noise goes away.

I have been using Castrol GTX 5W-30 dino oil with a Pure One filter. From the oil analysis thread Castrol has been the best non-synthetic oil for the VQ. So I have been sticking with that.
I cant post the video from work, it was taken from my phone. I will upload it at home and post the link.

Turn your speakers up.
Listen to the sound when the engine winds down, thats a little more pronounced than before. Is that normal?
superchargedg - Keith, how are you doing? Yeah its been a long time, every now and then I peek in.

Thanks for the replies. The jiggling sound that you probably heard is definitely the keys, my knee hits the keys. I should have mentioned that earlier.
What you want to hear is the engine winding down, its more sound than before. I want to know if that is normal.
I took this video from my phone and will try to take another one from a regular P&S camera and post back. The thing about this sound is that it more audible inside the cabin than outside. Seems that when outside the sounds just disperses and is not audible. Inside the cabin you can hear it, it sounds a little like a race engine winding down, not as smooth as it was before.
After reading a little in the forum, looks like the valve timing mechanism starts making noise as it wears, is that a general experience with VQDE?
Keith, do you work at Pepboys on weekends? I will see if I can swing by then.

I have uploaded an Mp3 file to the google site. It can downloaded and played. It sounds better than the Youtube video. Please tune out the keys jiggling sound.

I talked to Frank Hill this past week and took it to him on last Friday morning. Frank graciously took a look every possible way and concluded that it sounds healthy, although the sound might be slightly louder than before, it sounds pretty healthy.
Thanks Keith for the offer, didnt end making it to Pepboys, my 14 months old daughters pool party was a priority.
