As of right now, Jgrizzle hit it pretty much on the spot with count of how much of my monthly income I'd put out if I moved out RIGHT now..gotta pay off the car.

Not that far away from doing that, though, since I've been making my payments on time.

When I had a 1 bedroom apartment my BGE bill was $75-200 depending on time of year and if they prorated some months. One bill might be 20 days the next 40 sometimes it's weird like that. Always plan for the worst so if it's on avg $100 plan to have $150 monthly to cover it.

Food we currently spend about $1000/mo for two. We hardly ever eat out and buy stuff only if it's cheap either bulk at sams club or from Asian markets.

My rule of thumb for anything is being able to pay double. If I'm buying a car I have to be able to pay double payments. If I can't. I cant afford it. Same goes for living cost if the cost of living is over 50% of my take home. I'm living out of my means.

Also 6 months of rent/bills need to be saved up.

Things get tight and your brakes and tires need to be replaced the same time you get a weird BGE bill. You're going to be Fawked

 

I would be living at home if my parents lived in this state. No reason to move out of your place in this area. Housing market is on crack. The price they want for some places is crazy. Anything in a good area that is nice is expensive. Shin if your serious about getting your money right, you need to get a second job like Clay had and start getting that money.

Current Debt on my side 2k on the STi then paid off again and time to concentrate on stacking that money super hard again.

My apartment is around 2100 with utils plus i spend about 750-1000 a month on food...mainly eating out, 2 car payments that are a little over 700 total, plus another 700 in credit cards etc..LA is fawkin expensive.
