Most places I have heard of do some rate after they see what you want and how big. Haven't heard of many that charge by the hour.

I never joined the Maxima forum.

 

When you are doing a piece big enough that they can't estimate hours they to by the hour. If its small enough they will know how long it will take and give you a set price based on what they charge an hour. I shopped around 10+ shops and everyone had an hourly rate.

Keep in mind I'm not talking about a ***** 30 minute tattoo of a car rim.
