Arrow Understeer

I have read that the 350z has alot of understeer. Is there any easy (and affordable) way to drastically reduce this?

Is there a simple description for overseer and understeer in terms of what the car wants to do when going around a corner?

Understeer is when you enter a corner, the car wants to push straight ahead even if the front tires are turned.

Oversteer is when you enter a corner, the rear of the car wants to slide outside of the turn.

Those are the short and simple descriptions.

Now back to the original question. Is there a easy and affordable way to reduce understeer on a stock 350z?

This link should provide more technical information:

Turn Fast

There are easy and quick ways to fix understeer, but first let me tell you that if you are asking the question you really should not worry about it. The understeer is not something you would really notice or be bothered from it during daily driving. Unless you go to a road course for racing, you should not worry.

The easy fix is to elements: 1- replace suspension 2- replace sway bars. This would cost less than $2K, and would fix the problem.

I've found that racing in the rain really helps reduce the understeer... .

However, if nature isn't cooperative, the Nismo S-Tune suspension seems to help (from what I've heard), and simply going to larger front tires helps as well, although not as much. I'm sure there will be plenty of suspension kits that help balance the car, and the best for you will depend on what you want to do and how much you want to tinker with the set-up. Once thing about the Nismo kit, that may or may not be a benefit depending on your preference, is that it is NON adjustable, but does make the car much more neutral.

I have spun the Z on the track once, but not sure how or why. I entered the turn in what seemed like the same way as many other times, and as I started to exit, the back end came around. Looking back, I think maybe I turned in later and harder, and perhaps got on the throttle harder, but I'm not really sure. I certainly didn't plan on changing my line on that corner, so that's why I don't know exactly what happened.

Anyway, I think some tire size changes are a good start, and suspension mods are the final answer.
