G35 coupe vs. 350Z ????
Assuming both cars have good drivers, take-offs, etc, who would win, and by how much?
btw- I raced a new EVO, done with break-in....those are FAST. Oh yeah, the sound of those things, I thought the boxer engine sounded tight......i have moved a step down on the food chain.
So, 1/4 mile..........G35 or 350Z?

much to my dismay, i have to say the Z. more than likely by about a couple of tenths. when i was at the track with deviousZ and antZ, my best at the time was 14.4 and devious' was 14.3. his traps were 97.x (mine) and 98.x (his). i left after 3 runs and they stayed. as the night got cooler and they got more familiar with their cars, they dropped it to 14.0-14.1 at around 101. i may have been able to squeeze a 14.2 out of the car, maybe. so the times are pretty similar. similar enough that RT could make all of the difference for the win......

one thing also to remember is the G35 has higher skidpad number and slalom numbers than the z in some mags.
0-60 isn't what the car is all about.
These cars are the same in many aspects .. but, this being the topic, 0-60 I'd have to say the z.
later Gs and z's

My friend and I goof around all the time - he has a Z and I the G - it's been about the start - if I get the launch - then it's tough for him to catch up.....but, honestly, we have never really had the true chance to let them rip out.......either the road came short too fast.....or we both let up.......it's a very tight run....
Not sure about the slalom numbers - would love to test it out...
Good points though.

And if you're talking about value, you can get a G35 with Brembos with leather, sunroof, and ***-friendly suspension as bonuses, and all for less than a similarly equipped Track. Even if you bought a stripped Performance and added Brembos, it'd be more expensive...

One way to test it out is on a auto-x course in my opinion. I prefer the Z, but I think the G would take it in the auto-x. It has a longer wheel base, hence more balance in the corners; that is why it is posting better numbers with the mags. Of course, no question that the Michelin Pilot Sports are a significant advantage over the stock Bridgestones as well.
Would love to see it happen tho with same tires if possible

i really dont think that the G would fair better than the Z. although i think that it would be close, given equal driving skills. its heavier and tends to lean more in the corners than the go-kart like Z. i just cant make myself waste these Pilots at close to 3 bills a pop.....

the G is a better value and i prefer it
(thats why i bought it, and it smells of skyline)
going with nismo suspension so now ill have a nice sore butt
i bought the G for the sport aspect which is kinda funny.
and btw the downside of those tires is the rain
the secound i touch water its like im on a raft

However, just today, I noticed that the Pilot Sports on the G have different patern than the Bimmer one, but the Bimmer is a 2002 model. I knew that Michelin is supposed to come up with Pilot Sport 2s, I wonder if that's what's on the G

I chose the Z obviously, but I LOVE both cars. I do think the G35 is a better value; on paper if I compare both cars similarly equipped and look at the price/features it has me scratching my head why I chose the Z. I chose the Z because I don't have any infiniti dealers nearby, I like the Z interior much more than the G, and I figured there would be more aftermarket support for the Z. Plus I always like the Z32 so I just wanted to have a Z car.
I really want both cars dammit! I love my Z but every once and a while this little voice in my head says 'DAMN that's a sharp car' whenever I see a pic of a black g35c... I'm guessing there's g35c owners that feel the same way every now and then though when they see a Z.

its so smooth looking
and your right about the aftermarket, stuff is starting to come out but slowly, with the Z it was instant
