Default curious, why so many lt1/ls1 owners here

the car doesn't EVEN compete with a Z, they are TOTALLY different type cars. I would think they would all be on the Mustang boards moderating.......I mean talking smack to those guys, take a visit to some Z06 and Viper sites, BUT, why are they here???

It is almost like they are moderating EVERY race a Z owner posts.

I would think we would have some S2000, RX-7, Supra, M3, Boxster, NSX, 911 owners take a visit over here, but lt1 and ls1???, I am really missing something.

answers????

this isn't a flame, just a question, I would NEVER think of going there, so I am trying to understand the relationship.

I believe it all starts with this.....350Z owners seem to REGULARLY post kills on LT1/ LS1 cars ...I hardly see a kill story of a Z06 or a Viper.

I just come here to learn about 350Zs in general......LT1 kills i can see but when i hear "i smoked a LS1" i start to think WTF is going on...the cars aren't even close in straight line acceleration.

The BS doesn't end there...i smoked a this/that blah blah blah...it all came to a point a while back when a guy claimed to beat a Z06.....riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

I like to learn about cars but one thing i don't like to see is BS posted.
Good day.

Maybe they just like the Z and want to learn more about it and what it is capable of. I go to several othr forums and mainly just look at the kills section to see if any have run a Z. I am just curious bout what other communities think. Since we have numerous posts about LS1's, those guys seem to be here alot. Maybe they have friends that have 350's. My best friend drives an LS1 and he frequents this board alot because he finds it a little more interesting(mature) than some of his other choices. Most of the LS1 guys dont cause problems and when they do it more than likely it is not all their fault. I like having other car guys here to get different input on the cars that we are running. Some of these people actually have some knowledge. Maybe deep down inside they really want a Z .

Good day.
beat a Z06??? one of 2 things happened there

1. the Z06 didn't know about the race
2. The Z owner doesn't know a Z06 when he sees one (not that it could be a stock Vette either, so that doesn't make sense.

I don't think you will hear a lot about people here beating a Z06 or a Viper, b/c those cars are waaaaaaay faster, at least with a Great driver VS a crappy driver in a Z28 it could be interesting (notice I didn't say "beat").

equal Drivers a Lt1/Ls1 should win.

I do think that occasionally people have races and they are surprised at the outcome, so they come here to ask (ie- I once raced a Mustang GT (although it had the cobras on it, But I don't think it was) with exhaust and "other stuff" according to the owner. I was in my wifes Jetta (not stock), his GT's license plate and plate frame talk about how fast his car is (don;t remember exact wording). SO I wanted to play. It wasn't until the 3rd light he realized it.

we took off, I was head to head in 1st and only dropped to his door for a second, before I caught up again and was only about 1/4 car back (almost dead even).

It was a cool race, he rolls down his window and says "is that thing one of those V6's", I say "na, just a 4 cylinder (I left out the turbo part ) and he was like "wow" I asked "are you stock" and he said he had exhaust and some other stuff.
this race was a HUGE surprise to me, I went and posted it on a board and totally got flamed, yet I was there, nothing for me to gain about lying.

So I think sometimes that is the case here, people come and want to know why a certain outcome happened

it was a freindly race, not hate--THE WAY I LIKE IT!!

PEACE!!

I just like the car. I also like S2000's so I got to S2KI.com. I have said it before and I will say it again if I offend anybody because of what I post on here, and what kind of car I drive, I am sorry (except for CLS ) There are always going to be people who like to stir $hit up, but it comes from both sides.
I would love to have a Z, a S2000, a Z06, a SS, a EVO and a H2, but it is just not possible, so I guess I do have Z envy just like CLS has speed envy

I joined a while back to learn more about the Z and see what the competition is capable of. I am a member of more than one Mustang board and plenty of other boards as well. I would call myself a car freak, I just love cars and I enjoy learning about all of them that I can. Also, why would you never think of going over to the F-body boards? Its a free world, its not like your not allowed.

Hehe..just want to correct ya really quick.. . LS1 Shoudl Win... LT1.. depends on the two cars.. strong LT1 vs 350Z.. LT1 may win... Normal LT1 vs 350Z.. I give the edge to the 350Z.

Other than that..the other guys said the same thing I would say.. came to learn about the car and help pass along info. Face it.. sometimes people post incorrect facts.. either they have heard from someone else..or just made up..whatever.. I expect someone to try to help them out and call bs.

I would just like to say that a 350Z beating a LS1 is like a LS1 beating a Z06 (LS6)

350Z - 250-270RWHP
LS1- 310-330 RWHP
LS6- 365 RWHP

350Z and LS1 difference -60HP
LS1 and Z06 difference- 55HP

Does that shed any light?

Once again i'm not here to flame or troll, just talk maturely about things.

Eh, but with a greddy tt kit, around $7k, we are already running 345 rwhp at only 5 psi. turn up the boost, to around 10-17, and we are definitely beating ls6s, and running even with viper gts? i'd say we are putting around 450rwhp @ 16-17psi

average Z : 30k + 7k(greddy tt) = around 37k

Z06 = $40k+
Turn up the boost to oround 16-17 psi and KOBOOM...U'll have to upgrade the internals before running large amounts of boost...Oh, and a blown LS6 goes up to way more than 450 rwhp-thats what they can do N/A

There are elevently billion LT1/LS1 owners in the world and they congregate in every nook and cranny to protect the "distinguihed past" of American Muscle.

I heard they had tiny penii, and mullets...long long mullets.

I love you guys!

I have NEVER seen a stock LS1 dyno 330 RWHP. I'm not flaming here, I'm actually a former LS1 owner and loved the car. But I got my SS up to 320+ RWHP with exhaust, lid, maf, and some computer tuning.

My brother has an '02 WS6 that dynoed 320 rwhp/339 rwtq so those numbers are about right.
Even with that big power defecit the Z has, I can see people posting kills of LS1 F-bodies or even Corvettes during a stoplight to stoplight race. I've raced my brother quite a few times and in the first two gears the Z will hang with an LS1 F-body because of the tall first gear in the F-bodies.. if it was a race from 0-60 a win is totally possible. That said I'm glad that the LS1/LT1 guys visit over here, it is a nice friendly rivalry (most of the time).

This is just an observation and not meant to cause trouble:

I've noticed that the F-body guys who come here are WAY more mature and nicer than many of the Mustang guys we've had here in the past.

Agreed. The reason I like this forum is because of the variety of mature car owners.

But I do agree with RodH in that (not all) but a few of the f-body guys are a little quick to call BS on anyone who posts a kill.

The LS1 driver can LOSE, ya know?

It's got more power than the Z, but racing isn't all about brute power. It's about skill, traction, and mechanical condition. Thats where a Z may have an edge on the LT1 -- at 7+ years old, not all of them are kept up to shape.

I personally defeated a LS1 SS on the freeway from 90-130. Don't know why I won, but I did. He gave it his best shot, and so did I, and we ended it with thumbs up. Doesn't mean my car is faster than a LS1 -- on paper, the LS1 would win hands down. This is perfect example of how anything can happen on the streets.

But when I posted about it, there were some that felt the need to insult my intelligence without even knowing me or the conditions of the race.

I'm hoping to get a nice highway run with one of these guys again. Win or lose, it's just good fun, and some take it a little too seriously and stress out.

I see...so you think only *import* owners are worthy of posting on the 350Z forum.

I don't think that was the point he was making at all... I think the point he was making is that those cars compete with the Z for marketshare because they appeal to the same people whereas the F-body caters towards a totally different crowd. How many die hard F-body owners do you know that plan on getting rid of their modded F-body to get any of the cars he mentioned or vice-versa.

Where did you pull the word "worthy" out of his post, he never said or even hinted at the worthiness of either car's owner. Stop trying to stir up **** just for the hell of it.
