350Z vs Crx B16 turbocharged?
im vary curious which one would win the Z or the B16 turbocharged crx. A lot of people here have told me that the crx would beat the Z with ease but i dont belive it. Thats why I was wondering what you guys though of it.
welll --- im the honda guy right here ------turbo charged crx hey --- well -- heres the isues --- if its a stock motor in that crx that is boosted.... its probaly a good chance that the z will win.... but --- noone in there right mind will turbo a stock crz motor ------- most do swaps --- most common swap would be a b16a -----
i had a b16a in my 92 hatch-- which weight about the same as the crx...... and i ran a 14.4 with jsut bolt ons.......a bone stock b16 in a crx should run 15.0 or less!!!
a b16a crx torbo charged---- running 15's or 16's --- not unless your the worsr driver in the world!
id say even at a lowly 6-7 psi -- a b16a turbo would run at least mid to realy realy low 13's --- if u ask me it would hand the Z its *** by 4+ carlengths in the 1/4 mile
now -- dont go flaming me --- i own a 350z as well ---- but i knwo tons about hondas -- i buils mine -- but it was stolen--- rebuilding now ------ going for 10's daily driver --- its not that hard!

I've seen plenty of b16 and b18c hatches/crx at the track only pulling low 15's and high 14's. It is rare to find a driver good enough to get a low 14 out of one.
There are so many variables here, like is the car tuned and what boost is he running. But to give yourself the best chance race from a stop. A fwd Honda making any type of power has major problems with traction. From a roll if he is tuned he will eat you up.

alot of people do swaps into cars -- and then the dumbasses dont buy quality bolt ons -- that why they run so slow .... plus most people dont really know how to drive... and yes -- the Z launches hard -- and will have the advantage of the like --- b16a with 6psi ---- in crx--- youll own him off the launch but he should have u at the line
I have seen quite a few b16a CRX's and NA those are commong 14-15 second car, but like hatch said when they run just a tiny amounts of boost they become a monster. I have seen many run 12's or low 13's ALL day long in 90+ degree weather.
I think an NA b16a CRX vs a Stock 350Z would be an awesome race.

they weigh 2000lbs when wet I think. they only need 2/3rds the power of the Z, and they benifit from every extra hp more than a Z. 200hp and they can hand the Z its ***, which is not exactly a whole lotta power for a I4 turbo. imagine 300hp, which is feasible in many of them. ect.
best part is, at 2000lbs or so, they can handle like there on rails, not much traction is needed.
and a crx is 1000$ at best, engine swap is pricey tho, so is turbo, but you could do it for 10grand I bet. I dont care if its a 12second car, its a crx, and thats all fine and dandy for racing, but Ill stick to my Z on the roads.

On Tue. coming home Dc, I raced a turbocharged HB civic on the Highway (95s). We were going about 70mph when he came up on my bumper. Then he pulled next to me, and gave me and my track edition Z thumbs down. I shifted in to 3rd and started to pull on him, and when I shifted into 4th I had about 2 cars ahead of him. I got up up to about 130mph in 5th and all he saw was my plates (zepasu).
I think top end the Z can hang with most cars out there.
