oh no not another NA build!
I was thinking about it for a couple day's to create a topic here about my NA build because i allready have one on 350z-uk.com but im bored at work so f-it here it goes.
First of all some pics of my car. Hate it or love it.

Why the NA build?
Well my engine started to have problems (very low compression test, lose of power) and after helping out friends with their turbo or supercharger projects i wanted something else because i don't care that much about power.
The idea was to go simple and not to go to wild (replace gaskets, different cams, other intake, done!).
But after swapping the engine i got from a friend of mine (he had one in reserve) things started rolling.

A friend of mine told me that he knew a shop selling some engine upgrade parts for a 350z and after talking to that shop i bought their parts for cheap, like real cheap.
I bought the following items:
- new 350z short block
- Pauter connecting rods (major overkill)
- wiseco pistons 8.8:1 (sold those and bought new Cosworth 11:1 pistons with rings)
- lightly used heads
- lightly used crankshaft
- other minor parts
(The above was for around ~$2200,- so like i said, cheap!)

Well i still wanted different cams because why not and i was looking at the JWT C8 but then i found out a seller near mine location was selling some proper race cams for 1/3 the price of a JWT set. So now im the owner of some 294 duration 12mm lift cams... ow boy.
At this point i was like 'Yeah lets just go full retard and see how far we can go'.
Ordered some parts in Amerika, like gaskets, studs, new rev-up oil pomp (i want to rev higher but not $1200 nismo pump high), etc

So at this point all the parts i needed where in and time to start fitting but we ran into a small problem. The cams didnt fit.

After contacting the manufacture they told us that we needed so special parts to lift the buckets and ofcourse heavy springs.

Right now we can start building!
measuring the weight of the pistons

Setting up the block

Re-measure all the clearances (had a local shop do this first for ordering the correct parts)

But like any other NA build you need a better intake and better exhaust.
So for the intake i have a kinetix high velocity, 75mm throttle body and need to create a custom 3.5 or 4 inch intake tube.
For the exhaust i have bought from Torqen the ISR longtube headers and this will be connected to custom exhaust.

So the goal for now
- 8000 revs.
- lots of noise
- dont care about the horsepower (but a little more then 300whp would be nice)
- Tune it myself
22-10-2019
Balancing of the rods and pistons are done
Gapping the pistons rings are done
Fitting all the rings are done
Then we found out the connecting rods don't fit the pistons... Well that sucks (small end is to wide of the rod)
25-10-2019
So i changed the Pauter rods for some Eagle rods and can continu to build te engine. 10-12-2019 Big update and parts list

Todo for next time:

We measured the piston to valve clearance using the clay (play doh) method.
We have around 5.8mm clearance so everything is good

- Main bearings from ACL
- Main bearings clearance measured and confirmed
- Main studs from ARP
- Thrust washers from ACL
- Thrust clearance measured and confirmed
- Eagle Rods
- Rod bearings from ACL
- Rod bearing clearance measured and confirmed
- Rods balanced
- Cosworth pistons(high compression)
- Piston to wall clearance measured and confirmed
- Pistons(en ringpack) balanced
- Piston rings gaps measured and adjusted where needed
- Supertech oil seals
- Cat cams springs
- Cat cams lash caps (to raise buckets)
- Cat cams race cams(intake: 290 duration 12mm lift, exhaust 274 duration 11mm lift)
- Cam oil clearance adjusted
- Valve clearance corrected
- Deck clearance measure
- Balanced everything including the bank account!

Todo for next time:
- pre lubricate heads with molly and oil
- measure piston to valve clearance
- create self and oil galley gasket
- Apparently there are letters on the brackets that hold the cams.

By now, it's either built, or in the dumpster. Hope the OP tuned it on 100 octane race fuel with this build, but wondering what race fuel costs in the Netherlands. It's about $8.69 /gallon here in the states.

I don't think people here care about NA builds as before. For me EVERY NA car gets a meh after Sasha's hybrid setup lol. I too wanted a NA build until I opened my eyes, too much money and effort for not enough payout.
Not all of us have to hundred of thousands of dollars to spends. Hell the transmission has a magnesium case...
Good question.
Honestly this was a 1st post with a lot of graphic/high volume content. Sometimes 1st posts are auto-flagged by IB brands. They may have changed protocols or been over served (New Year's Eve).
Who want me to pm this guy and say, "Surprise!" ?

if you can get to him, yeah!
Oh for sure, but that why I said that. It's a unicorn for sure, take a 350Z, any year, take a bare bones begginer kit like Stillen, Vortech or, HKS, for about 5-7k you can have more power than you will ever get with those 5-7k in NA mods. Unless you are on the bottle.
OMG!
My thread is finally online! i thought something went wrong when starting this thread when i posted it!
Just put the engine back in the car a couple day's ago. So need to wire everything and start tuning.

But if you can buy for ~ $2000,- (heads, cilinder, new pistons, new rods, very cheap second hand cams) then yeah why not go this route.
Not gonna tune it for 100 octane because of how expensive and hard to get it is but gonna tune it for 98
