Default New 2008 350z

Fellas, I am new to the forum and the z communities. I purchased a new 2008 350z on Monday. My previous car was a 1992 3000gt VR-4 (the twin-turbo AWD version) with some basic modifications. I'm looking forward to seeing how the z stacks up against my old 3000; unfortunately though, I am still in the process of the 1200 mile break in period for the engine suggested by my owners manual.

I welcome any information from y'all about z's or a new car in general. I have a couple of questions that I will begin researching now that I have full access to the forums, but feel free to post if you know some info.

I have some questions about what products you use to keep your car in top shape. I cannot garage my baby, so I'm considering a car cover from Nissan, provided that they do not scratch the paint and are the best cover out there. Any experience with the covers? Also, I bought Amorall Detailer (non-greasy formula) for the dash and plastics; anyone used this product or a similar one? Lastly, looks like I'm going to go with Meguiar's NXT wax; should I put a coat on ASAP to protect the factory paint?

You bought the Z on April Fools Day?
Did you come in the house and say "Honey, I'm home. I just bought a van for us and the kids."

Welcome to the forum.

Well, luckily I don't have kids yet, or a wife. Just a recent college grad. The girlfriend was understanding though. She likes it.

Welcome and congratZ on the 2008. Probably best to steer clear or Amourall products, they're pretty harsh on surfaces, especially over time. Go back to the main forum page, and down to the "Detailing", you'll find heaps of info there.

I recently bought Prestone's Synthetic Car Polish. I'm prejudiced, anything that says "Synthetic" on it, I think it's better! I haven't tried it yet, but will
keep you up-to-date when I do.
