Default New 350z owner/rwd driver...

Well Hi

Im Nic. Im in the Air Force at Andrews AFB MD ... Just picked up a 04 350z I am not sure on what version it is. Its an auto. I also own a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon but am totally in love with the Z. I used to be stationed in Las Vegas so some might know me. I have a bunch of questions about the car and well driving a rwd car. (note to self - do not turn off Traction Control)

Well here are some pics

Happy days. Looks like someone took care of it and spiffed it up for you already. If you have "traction control" on that little button instead of "VDC", it's and Enthusiast or Permormance Model. Here is a link to figure it out. Since you have some custom stuff on it you may need to take all the differences between the models into consideration. isn't the base model and if you don't have electric leather seats, it's either the Performance. Welcome to the forum.

You are already giving bad advice, Performance model comes with VDC there Chief.

Easy way to figure out what model you have.

Base - No steering wheel controls
Enthusiast - Only model with Traction Control
Performance - VDC, cloth, baby brakes
Touring - VDC, Leather, baby brakes
Track - VDC, BREMBOS

Any accidents, or did you get hosed by the nice people at Waldorf Ford? I see your front bumper scrape guard has been painted, it should be black.

So you have factory Navigation installed in the cubby, a factory DVD slot over your right shoulder, Bose headunit, and Leather seats?? I would agree touring -- if you are sitting in the driver seat you should see a VDC button over top of your left knee on the dash. VDC is a smarter version of traction control that allows for minor tire slip before it reals you back in, kinda like corvette's competition driving mode.

AHHH HA, I see its an AUTOMATIC now! I think ALL automatics only have traction control and no vdc. I do know the autos are only offered in enthusiast and touring.

^ yeah man, def keep it on for a while till you get used to the car. Do you mind me asking how many miles are on it and what kinda deal you got?

There are two locals who work at Andrews FYI -- so keep an eye out.

CongratZ on the PPW. Great you've got a practical vehicle too, best of both worlds.

I noticed that too, it's a bit odd.
