I just got my Z around 2 weeks ago and enjoying it a lot so far. I'm only sixteen and it took me around 2 years of hard work to save up enough money to buy it so I'm very proud of myself and the car.

Sooooooo let me get this straight. You saved up $15,000+ between the ages of 14 and 16. Then your parents let you blow it all on a Z instead of things you need right now like college, or preparing to move out on your own. AND you have no long term driving experience, esp in a RWD sports car.
IBTL!!

We're flaming 'cause you are young and don't want you killing us with your lack of respect for other drivers, lack responsibility and lack of will power!
Save up for a life first, worry about a car later.
Chicks aren't impressed when you have a nice car but still live with mom and dad!
Typical....all the youngins come to each other's rescue!!!

+1 on the working, saving and buying on your own. o god the work jokes I could make with your name that would get me in trouble.
I agree. You should be proud of your efforts and your ability to save (provided of course that it wasn't a relative that gave you a job and overpaid you...). I wouldn't bother being proud of the car, it is just a hunk of metal and not a reflection on you, but definitely be proud of your ability to work and save.

Again, I agree. Bad choice for a young driver/first car. It is next to impossible to convince kids of the foolishness of their actions. At 16, I wouldn't have let you buy it and I sure as hell wouldn't pay for the insurance.
Having said that, my 18 year old son is a senior in high school living at home. He bought an '02 R6 sport bike a couple months ago. Against my better judgment, I didn't kick him out of the house and disown him as a more rational father would have. Yeah, it is his first motorcycle. My point is that parenting decisions aren't always easy and it is easier to say what others "should" do than to always know the best decision when it is your own kids.

I'd be long dead right now if i had a Z when i was 16!!! I'm 31 and i still get a lil stoopid at times. But a few accidents, many MANY tickets, and 15 years behind the wheel has taught me a lil about responsibility, and how to truely handle a car. Not just what i learned on video games!
