New Z Owner (Finally!)
Well, here is the long and short of it. I've loved 350z's since I was 13 (they first came out) and I finally will be the proud owner of one tomorrow morning at 10a.m. I found a gorgeous 2006 Dark Cherry 350z just down the road for me, test drove it and fell in love with it immediately.
My main question is that the previous owner the dealer got it from did some minor stuff under the hood putting in a nice CAI and a Gforce "Performance Chip" (lol). I want to know how much you guys think the CAI mainly will impact my fuel economy? What can I expect to see on open highway driving around 65mph and city driving?
It's the automatic tranny also, thanks in advance! I hope to be very active here coming up in the near future!

If its a 2006, that color is called Interlagos Fire.
And your mpg etc wont really change much- you still wont get many mpg in a Z, regardless. Its pretty much negligible.
And as you likely know, that performance chip was probably a waste of the previous owners $35. haha

Damn, that's a freaking sweet color name not gonna lie. The dealer kept calling it brown and I said "no..." multiple times haha.
The chip I figured was a complete waste but he did put it on display nicely haha, I've heard of people getting close to 28-30mpg on open highways with not too much uphill driving in their 350z's, what do you think of those numbers? Being too hopeful?

Welcome,great color!
Guys usually don't buy a Z with mpg being a major draw.
Maybe 25mpg hwy is a realistic #.
By the way,in case you have not already looked it up,
Interlagos fire is named after a racing circuit in Brazil.
As recently posted,Many of the Z colors are named after
race tracks or circuits.
