Default New To the Z World

Hello, All.
I just recently purchased on 03 350Z with only 55,423 miles on it. It is my second car (the first was an 03 MINI S). I got a bit of a late start when it came to getting my license which, in retrospect, was probably for the best, as i would have PROBABLY gotten into a lot of trouble driving when i was younger.

Any who, moving into the new(ish) 350Z from the mini is like night and day. So much more torque, so much more power, and just that much more fun! I picked up the car april second and have been trying to put some miles on it to see if there are any issues, while i still have NY States 90 day warranty available to me, as the dealer couldnt offer me a warranty due to the age of the car.

In the time i have had it (almost two weeks) there hasnt been any huge issues, but there is something. About two days ago i started to notice a significant creaking sound coming from the rear of the car. it typically happens on the less uneven surfaces, in turns, or generally, when ever the weight may shift onto the rear wheels more. Im going back to the dealer with it to have it looked at in their service department, but wanted to hear some opinions on the matter. Also id like to hear from any other people who may know of any other problems that may be common on these that i should look into or watch out for on my vehicle.

Thanks,
Sanchisimo

Hey Sanchisimo, welcome to the forum and congratulations on the purchase of your 350Z. If you go on YouTube and type in 'rear drop links for 350Z' you'll find a few clips of the sort of noises that you get when these links are shot. They're not difficult to replace if it is this is the problem. I doubt that its the rear suspension as these usually tend to go at around 70k to 80K. There is a gasket at the top of the rear damper unit that fails but this tends to give out more of a knocking sound. Hope this helps. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Huh... That is exactly the sound. Ill look into the parts and get back to you. I got under the car this weekend to take a look at the suspension to find that the bushing are also kind of a mess, and definitely show some age. Anyone know of any reasonably priced kits for that as well?
