Default Gas gauge not reading accurately

So I recently removed my fuel pump in order to fix some gas leakage issue but after I installed it back in the gas gauge started reading inaccurately. It would read I had half a tank no matter what amount of gas I had in it. I then took out the fuel pump again and cleaned the sensors to see if that was the issue but when I reinstalled it the gas gauge now read I had zero gas in it. Whenever I put gas into it the meter goes up slightly but it is not accurate whatsoever. Any tips on what it might be or what I could do? It is a 2004 350z
