Default Found in oil sump!

Hey guys, i dont know what to make of this. I was hearing a rattle coming from the engine, it sounded like it could of been the timing chain or a lifter. when i was doing an oil change, there was alot of metal shavings. I ended up taking off the sump i found these in the sump.
Are these piston rings
Is there a logical explaination?
could i have pissed off a mechanic so he dropped this in there?
It doesnt feel like soft metal, i mean I couldnt bend them back by hand. Help

Note the notchs on the one on the left and at the tips of the far right

Those are thrust washers that belong installed along your crankshaft under girdle # 3. Their purpose is to prevent end float in the crank. You have one more to find in there and will need a tear down to see what went wrong.
