Default proud new owner, and a question about the battery

Hey all.

Finally got my dream car. '04 Touring, LeMans Sunset, all the goodies... Since it was the end of the year, and the end of the month, the dealer really wanted to move the car, and (i feel) i got a pretty darned good deal. plus they through in a clear bra.

woo hoo!

So my question now, is about the battery/start-up of the car. It seems that this morning, she really didn't want to turn over when i tried to start it up. Same thing happened when i got in it to go to lunch...

I'm in California, so the weather shouldn't be the culprit... is this in anyway normal, or should i call the dealer?

thanks!

Congrats on the Zzzzzzzzzz.

No, the car should turn right over; check with the dealer.

She probably has been sitting for a while, and the battery is drained. They (the dealer) probably didn't bother charging the battery for you. I had the same problem when I left her sitting for 3 weeks. After I charged the battery overnight, she was fine. I guess with all the electronics on board, she uses alot of juice.....even when just parked.

Either that, or you got a bad battery.

Good luck.

Very nice, have the dealer service or replace the battery. No biggie, or you can buy a charger and let it trickle charge over night.

Thanks guys. I went to the dealer yesterday, and they wouldn't look at it with out an appointment (what the fsck? it's a new car?... hello?) and to come back in a few days.

So of course, when i went out to lunch today, it's now officially dead, left sitting in a parking lot.

great.

thats really wierd. I had some issues a while back; jumped a curb; blew out all 4 tires. the car sat for a full month without being turned on. when it was turned on; I dont remember it having any problems whatsoever.

perhaps try a nice long highway drive to get a good deep drive. short drives can end up sucking up more power than they replace.

Sounds like a dead battery. Use the roadside assistance to boost the car and get the dealer to fix it.

The fact they didn't even bother to look at it without an appointment, that is very poor after-sales service. Start looking for another dealer for long term service.
